Department of Treasury
TriTech Enterprise Systems supported several branches under the Department of Treasury. Our consultants analyzed/developed requirements, site built/designed architectures, procured software/hardware equipment, and integrated that equipment (software/hardware) in the customers’ environments. In addition, we delivered business solutions for text and data mining, contingency and disaster response planning, information assurance, environmental strategies and technology, enterprise architecture, network operations and management, and implemented enterprise systems management.
For the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Enterprise Systems Management (ESM) project, we were responsible for building three testing environments and one production environment. TriTech was involved in this project from conception to operation and maintenance. We defined requirements, built a solution, procured equipment, installed equipment and integrated several ESM applications (i.e., Tivoli, Cognos). The ESM environment will allow the IRS the flexibility to manage its users and the network from one central location. The objectives of this project were to
- Build a single integrated system management environment that will reduce redundancy of disparate operations
- Merge more than 19 help desk into one virtual help desk, and
- Leverage COTS products to reduce the total cost of ownership by improving asset management
In addition, TriTech Enterprise Systems supported the Integrated Financial System (IFS) project. This project was very similar architecturally to the above project, except the financial system was large. TriTech helped the IRS in executing fundamental restructuring and modernization of its tax administration and internal management processes and systems. The overall goal of this effort was to transform the IRS into a customer-oriented, performance-based business enterprise. The focus of the IFS project was to replace a set of disparate legacy systems supporting financial and work management functions with an ERP COTS solution.
To achieve its transformation into a customer-oriented, performance-based enterprise, it was determined that the IRS needed a robust, integrated solution that would provide the financial and operational information that was essential to measure the full cost of administering the Internal Revenue Code and to report meaningful, cost-based performance information. SAP software was selected as the integrated solution to the IRS’ business needs.
For the Financial Management Service Acquisition Management Division, TriTech Enterprise Systems provided evaluations and recommendations, consulted with vendors, and procured software/hardware for the Department of Treasury.
